United States Trump's reciprocal tariffs start at 10%, and the tax rate on China is 34%, and the cumulative rate will reach 54% On April 2, local time, U.S. President Trump announced "reciprocal tariffs", the Trump administration will impose different levels of tariffs on all trading partners, and intends to impose additional tariffs of 34% on China, tariffs ranging from 20% to 49% on trading partners such as the European Union, Vietnam, Japan, India, South Korea, Thailand, Switzerland, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Cambodia, and the minimum equivalent tax rate for any trading partner is also 10%.

A White House official confirmed that the 34 percent reciprocal tariffs on China would be compounded with the original 20 percent U.S. tariffs on China, bringing the total tariff rate on China to 54 percent, which is expected to take effect on April 9. At present, a number of U.S. trading partners have said they will retaliate.
